Today, teenage girls and young women face more challenges than anyone else in society. It becomes difficult to talk to parents or friends about their problems, and it seems like no one truly "gets it." Parents often just want to help and most likely will suggest the idea of going to therapy which seems frightening, and embarrassing. That is why House of Motivation is different. It is specifically designed for girls in middle school through college who need someone on their side, no matter what. It is intimidating to sit in a room and have someone much older analyze you and try to understand the issues that young girls encounter daily.

Brielle is a young, 27 year old, two-time state pageant titleholder, and is known statewide for her motivational speaking to girls. Praised for being down to earth, and comfortable to be around, she has extensive knowledge on an array of issues facing young girls today. Trust us, she understands if you're having a meltdown because the girls at school talk behind your back on Facebook, and the guy you like won't text you back fast enough (even though you know his phone is on him 24/7). Or, you're trying to decide what college to go to- what major- and what school is best for your you and major. Maybe you're graduating college, and have no idea what you want to be and what job would make you happy. Brielle "gets it," and she will help you every step of the way.

Life Coaching is a practice to support clients in articulating, envisioning and creating their lives as they want or wish them to be. Clients often come to resolve an issue or grow in a particular area of their lives. I help clients get to the root of the issue, and distinguish what they want to accomplish or create in any area of their life. I support them and together we create a plan and take the actions to make their vision become reality. Of course, nothing worth having comes easy, and through the journey we work through obstacles that may arise. Clients are also taught to replace self-doubt and negative self-talk so nothing can stand in their way. Each client experience is unique and each life coaching journey is custom to that particular client.

How is Life Coaching different than Therapy?

Life Coaching is all about YOUR life and what you are going to do with it. Often we reach a fork in the road and are faced with major life decisions that seem overwhelming. Life Coaching is very future looking; whereas therapy often looks to the past to resolve old hurts. In addition, therapy is usually focused on resolving a problem or diagnosis whereas in Life Coaching, we come from a perspective that you are healthy and well, and that you just want to improve, grow and increase your experience and satisfaction of life.

If you want to discuss the past and get over hurts and traumas, we can certainly discuss that as well. The goal is to remove any barriers that stand in your way of achieving what you really want. If you want to move forward and create your future, then you have found the right place.

WHAT IS IT?

One of the most exciting and frightening times of life is graduating college and entering the "real world" that you've been hearing about your entire life. You will have a great degree, and everyone wants to know what you're doing next...easier said than done!

The goal is to find a career that is fulfilling and in balance with your full range of values; from how you want to be spending your work time and the legacy you want to leave, to how much money you want to be making. To grow, develop and thrive in your career, to vastly expand your skills, abilities, satisfaction, results and compensation. This is no easy task, and Brielle will guide and focus you to narrow down, and even trial-run careers that you're interested in. Whether you need work on your resume, interview skills, or confidence, you will quickly be ahead of the game!

It's time to stand out from the crowd, and build recognition within your company and industry! So what are you waiting for?

Several theoretical orientations are combined, with the primary ones being cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), positive psychology, and life coaching. Brielle will tailor her approach to best suit your needs. Ultimately, the goal is to help you learn strategies to manage your challenges and achieve your goals independent of a coach.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a form of therapy that has gained a great deal of attention within the last few decades. In brief, in cognitive behavioral therapy (sometimes called cognitive therapy), clients are taught that thoughts, emotions, and behavior are inextricably linked. The way we perceive things influences our physiological, emotional, and behavioral responses. Through various techniques, thoughts and behaviors are examined and modified. With practice, clients learn these techniques so that they can effectively deal with their challenges on their own. CBT tends to be more problem-solving oriented, time limited, and focused on the present. This focuses on making a connection between what a person is feeling and what they are thinking. We teach a person to look more fully at a situation and then weigh the evidence before taking action. Then when they do react, they fully understand the situation and have a better chance of reacting in way they can feel good about.

Positive Psychology

Until about the past decade, psychology and psychiatry have tended to focus on pathology what is going wrong with people and why. Recently, however, there has been a new movement in the field spearheaded by psychologists such as Dr. Martin Seligman and Dr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, that focuses on what makes people happy and why. The research within the field of positive psychology provides a wealth of data on strategies and behaviors (e.g., exercise, charitable deeds, learning to forgive) that tend to elicit a sense of fulfillment and positive emotional states. In therapy, clients learn how to choose behaviors that tend to engender happiness. Oftentimes, these are activities that clients do occasionally in the present or once did in the past but are not aware of how beneficial these behaviors are. By learning to incorporate more positive behaviors in their lifestyle, clients can directly combat negative moods such as depression and anxiety.

Life Coaching

Life coaches believe that their clients know the answers to their own questions, but that they need help using their inner resources to find the answers. Many clients find that life coaches have the skill to know the right questions to ask their clients, enabling them to answer their own questions and find greater fulfillment. Life coaches seek to serve as a sounding board or motivator for their clients, and they most commonly address issues that clients are having in their personal lives, relationships, or professional lives.

House of Motivation is designed to help girls and young women through the hardest years of their life.
